This urban site was formerly part of a car park serving the first Bishop’s House for Truro Cathedral. Whilst enclosed by mature green hedges and elevated on the south side, the site is adjacent to central Truro, with a number of immediate neighbours.
The client wanted a new house design that would create an energy efficient sustainable dwelling. The construction is timber frame with part timber cladding, part render, and with increased levels of insulation. It is heated by a ground source heat pump.
This application of contemporary residential architecture reflects the immediate green surroundings whilst maintaining an urban feel and respecting the established buildings nearby.
