NEXT, KINGSLEY VILLAGE
THE PROJECT
As commercial architects, CAD have been involved with Kingsley for a considerable time and assisted in the extension of Kingsley Village to provide for a Next Outlet.
The brief was to design a vertical extension over the original single storey food hall. The extension incorporates the original sub-structure, elements of the original steel frame and the roof structure, the latter raised to accommodate two new mezzanine floors.
A ‘Starbucks’ has also been incorporated at ground level in an extension to the rear of the glazed link between the new ‘Next’ and the main shopping hall, for which CAD also provided commercial architecture services.
The contemporary glazed three storey building design is highly visible from the A30.
